World Premieres in Florence
The Swingles begin their week-long Italian tour with a concert at the beautiful Teatro Verdi in Firenze (a.k.a. Florence) tomorrow night, collaborating with the wonderful Orchestra della Toscana for the first time.
The evening's music will feature orchestral versions of three songs from
Ferris Wheels, the latest Swingles CD: Flying High/Wake Me Up When September Ends, Both Sides Now, and Unravel.
Toronto native Aaron Jensen's setting of Unravel, the beautiful and evocative song by Icelandic singer Björk, is a welcome addition to the Swingles' Orchestral Series. This concert will be its world premiere, along with a new voice-and-orchestra version of Mozart's "Magic Flute Overture".

The Orchestral Series continues next month in Sao Paulo, Brazil with the TUCCA Philharmonica.
