Bach Fever!
BBC Radio 4 presents "Bach Fever!" airing today, December 29th and available on BBC iPlayer for another 7 days.
Simon Hollis explores the uses and abuses of Bach's music, from the jazz Bach craze of the 1960s to the electronic edifice of Wendy Carlos' "Switched on Bach" recordings. It has provided an incredible resource for pop invention, jazz improvisation, a cappella swing, electronic futurism, rock guitar and plain kitch.
The programme features music and interviews by Swingles past and present (including founder Ward Swingle) and some live excerpts from a Swingle rehearsal!
